September 9 Weekly PlayStation Store Update Goes Live

September 9 is a historic day in gaming. On this day 15 years ago, the Sega Dreamcast launched in the United States. I’ll always remember coming home from my third day of high school and seeing the system, a VMU, and Sonic Adventure waiting for me on the couch. Now, that date has been brought back to prominence thanks to not only Apple, but the launch of Destiny. Our own Matt Whittaker and Steve Hannley have been streaming the game since Monday on our Twitch channel, so check it out and engage in the chat if you so desire. Beyond Destiny on both the PS3 and PS4, you can also buy NHL 15 on those systems, or get Mega Man X5 as a PS1 classic on the PS3. Nothing new is a PS+ freebie sadly, but a giant sale has hit the Grand Theft Auto games without needing a Plus subscription.

  • GTA III – $2.49
  • GTA: Chinatown Wars – $4.99
  • GTA: Episodes From Liberty City – $5.99
  • GTA: Vice City Stories – $2.49
  • GTA III – $2.49
  • GTA: Vice City – $2.49
  • GTA: San Andreas – $3.99
  • GTA IV – $4.99
  • GTA IV: Episodes From Liberty City – $5.99
  • GTA V – $29.99

Every single game there is worth owning, but with GTA V suffering from issues with its digital version, I would recommend going with the physical version instead.  The Stories games are underrated to some degree, with Vice City Stories in particular being a must-play for anyone who grew up around the ’80s since it’s got an even better soundtrack than the original Vice City. This is a great way to fill in any gaps in your digital GTA collection, so be sure to get whatever you’re missing now since they rarely go on sale on consoles.
