I’m afraid I’ve got some Bad News! 2K Games has announced this morning that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the annual pro wrestling simulator WWE 2K15 will be delayed from the original planned release date of October 28, 2014. Fret not though, the delay is just a few weeks later, on November 18, 2014, so luckily it’s not a long delay before you’ll get to see the shiny new squared circle on the current generation of machines. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 release dates remain unchanged.
The reason for the delay is clearly to add polish and finalize improvements as the 2K development teams work hard to ensure they deliver a good product.
“Visual Concepts and Yuke’s are committed to delivering the most authentic and action-packed WWE experience to date, including release for the very first time on next-generation consoles,” said Greg Thomas, President, Visual Concepts. “The additional development time enables our talented teams to ensure the WWE 2K15 next-gen experience fully meets our expectations.”
In a year chock full of games who were delayed until 2015, a few week delay for some extra touches isn’t so bad and I have to imagine that with next year’s game there’s a high chance there won’t be a PS3 or Xbox 360 version, so without having to focus on two generations of consoles to develop for, there probably won’t be a delay there next year. Right?
