Today during a livestream it was revealed that Snake will be getting a canine companion named “DD” short for Diamond Dog.
The trailer shows Snake, presumably coming back from a mission, being greeted by his newest comrade in the usual cliche fashion and eventually time lapsing to DD being full grown and sporting an eye patch. DD, like Quiet, is a completely optional character and you can go through the game in its entirety without ever finding either.
It’s safe to say that there hasn’t been this much hype for a dog in a video game since Call of Duty: Ghosts revealed there’s some time ago.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain still has not announced a release date but is expected sometime in 2015 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3, and PC.
