In America, about the only product that draws swarms of people willing to stand in line for an extended period of time is a new iPhone. In, Japan, it’s less Apple and more Pokémon. Pre-orders have opened today for the highly-anticipated 3DS remakes, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and suffice it to say, the country’s attention has been grabbed. Pokémon Centers across the country are experiencing lines of thousands of people, all hungry to get their pre-order in. That’s right, this line is simply for a pre-order and not the games themselves.
Now before you express too much shock (although plenty of shock is warranted), this is no ordinary pre-order. Fans who pre-order will receive various bonuses including two figures, an artbook and a poster.
Game Freak director Junichi Masuda has posted multiple pictures of the madness that we’ve collected below. Every GameStop employee in America must be salivating at this.
