Rock Band Network Closes Shop, Ends New Submissions

Four years ago, Harmonix announced the Rock Band Network, a service on the Rock Band Store that allows artists and record labels to produce their own note charts for Rock Band, allowing their songs to be played in the game. Now, the service is officially ending its run.

Due to technical issues and server stability problems, Harmonix’s Aaron Trites announced earlier this week that the Rock Band Network could not be sustained. No more new songs will be released on the service, nor will Harmonix accept any new submissions. However, all Rock Band Network songs that users have already downloaded and stored on their system memory will still be available for play.

Rock Band ended its weekly DLC run in April 2013, but has proposed interest in a potential series revival.
