iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are a smashing success. In their first weekend on the market, they sold an astonishing 10 million units across ten countries including the US, Canada and UK. Twenty more countries will get the phones this week, and a total of 115 countries will carry them by the end of the year.
“Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook. “We would like to thank all of our customers for making this our best launch ever, shattering all previous sell-through records by a large margin. While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible.”
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were announced at an Apple event on September 9. The new phones come with a beautiful redesign, Retina HD displays, a 64-bit A8 chip, and NFC support. You can order the phones now, but it’ll be some time before they’re in your hands due to high demand.
