Before today, we haven’t seen much of Alien: Isolation’s survivor mode. Before today, we haven’t seen much of Ridley traversing the ship, desperately trying to escape the cold, hulking alien-shaped clutches of death in an unmatched pursuit for life.
For those not in the gaming loop, Alien: Isolation is not a sequel to Alien: Colonial Marines (bless whatever god’s in charge of video games). It’s more of a slow-moving survival horror than your typical scare-fests, and involves a lot of methodical sneaking, hiding and trying not to be mauled to death.
The game launches into nightmares the world over October 7, 2014 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.
Watch and enjoy the lengthy video below (which was taken from Eurogamer’s Let’s Play of Alien: Isolation at Creative Assembly’s head offices). While the level on display is quite short, and the objective is simply to get away from the alien as quickly as possible, it’s looking as engaging as ever.
