PlayStation Store Update For the Week of September 30 Goes Live – Massive Metal Gear and Castlevania Sale

It’s a big week for the PlayStation Store, with some major releases like Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor going live, along with smaller releases like Futuridium EP Deluxe (cross-buy on the Vita and PS4) and Pier Solar and The Great Architects (cross-buy on the PS4 and PS3). There’s also a big Castlevania sale alongside some Metal Gear Solid games and the debut of the NAMCO Museum Vol. 1-5 collections as PS1 Classics. Chariot also goes live on the PS4, while Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax is available on the PS3.

  • Castlevania: Harmony of Despair: $6.74
  • Castlevania: Symphony of the Night – $4.49
  • Castlevania: Mirror of Fate – $6.74
  • Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 – $17.99
  • Metal Gear Solid: $4.49
  • Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance – $8.99
  • Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker – $8.99
  • Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS3) – $9.99
  • Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS4) – $13.49
  • Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection (Vita) – $13.49
  • Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection (PS3) – $17.99
  • New Little King Story – $8.99
  • Silent Hill – $2.69

You can’t go wrong with anything listed above with the possible exception of Lords of Shadow 2. Also, anyone with an appreciation for gaming history should pick up something in the NAMCO Museum collection, because they’re some of the best retro collections ever made. They’ve got fully-explorable museum sections, and while the early, low-budget PS1 3D may not have aged well, things like that always add a layer of authenticity to retro collections. You also get a lot of art and information on the games themselves, and will at least find a few games that you didn’t know about beforehand (but wind up getting hooked on). Toy Pop had that effect on me with the first installment.
