All signs point to yes. Re/code is reporting that Apple will hold a major event on October 16, and this time they’ll be unveiling a brand new iPad, new iMacs, and release Mac OS X Yosemite.
The October 16 event will take place at Apple’s own Hall Auditorium in Cupertino, California and will be a more laid back affair than their iPhone 6 and 6 Plus reveal. The main focus of the event will be the brand new iPad Air model that Apple hopes will rejuvenate sales. The company’s tablets have been in constant decline year-over-year with the rise of less expensive 7″ tablets and phablets in the marketplace. Rumors suggest the new iPad model will incorporate the finger print scanner found in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and share the same A8 chip as its phone counterparts.
Rumors also indicate that this will be the only new iPad revealed at the October 16 event. The announcement of the latest iPad Mini with Retina Display and the rumored 12″ iPad will have to wait until 2015. Brand new iMacs sporting Retina displays will also be announced at the event, alongside a release date for Yosemite, the latest version of Mac OS X. Not as exciting as an iPhone reveal, but Mac fans have plenty to look forward to.
Be sure to check back on October 16 to see everything that Apple announces.
