Sonic Boom Will Air on Cartoon Network in November

Earlier this year, it was revealed that the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog game would take the series in a whole new direction. It was also said to be getting an animated television series. Today, SEGA announced that the show will begin airing on Cartoon Network on November 8, 2014.

Expectedly, it stars everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog alongside his pals as they just go about their normal routine of trying to prevent Dr. Robotnik from carrying out any dastardly plans. Sonic Boom will be different from previous Sonic toons, as it’s apparently more humor-centric (and not of the slapstick variety).

The show boasts some acting veterans: Roger Craig Smith (Batman: Arkham Origins), Travis Willingham (Infamous: First Light), Colleen O’Shaughnessey (South Park: The Stick of Truth), Cindy Robinson (Dynasty Warriors 8), Mike Pollock (Pokémon), and Nika Futterman (Kid Icarus: Uprising). The actors reprise their roles for the game which is slated for November 11, 2014, shortly after the television premiere.
