Although there was already an announcement about Smash’s November release on the Wii U earlier today, Captain Toad refuses to be overlooked.
A crowd favorite at E3 in June, Nintendo has announced today that Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will launch on December 5 for $39.99, finally allowing players to take control of the intrepid explorer as he sets off on wild adventures, such as exploring a haunted house and escaping a smoldering volcano.
Toad characters have appeared in video games since the original Super Mario Bros. on the NES, but this is the first time in history that one gets top billing. If Toad doesn’t quite do it for you though, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will also support Amiibo figures in 2015. For now, enjoy the Month of Toad in the extended Year of Luigi. Now, when does Ninji get his own year?!?
