A goddess, plagued by her past, is in imminent danger. To save herself, she must explore her own mind and the planet that exists within it. As the subconscious is wont to be, this exploration is fraught with impediments and obstacles.
In Red Goddess, you play as one of three characters: Divine, the protagonist, fiery Fury or icy Chill, embodiments of her emotions. Within her mind, the enemies are her own negative thoughts and she is hunted by them as she seeks safety from an unknown enemy. It’s a beautifully stylized journey with combo-based combat, classic puzzles and some nifty platforming elements.
Boasting past work like Deadlight and Risen, the Spanish indie team Yanim Studio blew past the Greenlight requirement and their Kickstarter goal for Red Goddess earlier this year. With cooperation from rockin’ synth genius Ronald Jenkees, it’s shaping up to be quite the promising adventure.
Red Goddess is slated for a March 2015 release on PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4 and Wii U. Check out the trailer below.
