In complete contrast to its loud, noisy jumpscares, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has crept onto Steam practically silently.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, the sequel to the jumpscare-tastic indie game from developer Scott Cawthon, achieved an insanely fast greenlight through Steam earlier this year, leading to the game’s surprise release today.
The game was originally teased for 2015, but was eventually pushed up to Dec. 25, 2014. But it seems that fan enthusiasm has launched development into the stratosphere, as the game is available in full on Steam for $7.99…right now? Yes, right now.
The launch of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 was a silent one, with some community members claiming it to simply be a mistaken demo page. However, those who have bought and played the game do claim it to be a complete package, published intentionally by Cawthon. Cawthon confirmed the full game’s release on Steam later that day.
