In an unexpected and saddening turn of events, eccentric Japanese game developer Tak Fujii has announced that he has left Konami after working there for nearly 20 years. Tak Fuji is best known for his enthusiastic demeanor and his involvement with games like Ninety Nine Nights II and Blades of Time. He became famous for the way he described his games and for his genuinely fun and friendly personality.
No formal statement has been made regarding the reason of his departure, but his lingering and serious health issues may likely have lead to it. Tak Fujii was diagnosed with cancer back in October, 2013.
Tak Fujii had the following message for his fans on Twitter.
It’s been great 20 years of creation. Thanks for all who supported, loved my titles. Farewell and may the extreeeeemeness be with KONAMI.
