Miyamoto Shares New Star Fox Wii U Info

In a video interview with YouTuber iJustine, Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto spoke briefly about his plans for the upcoming Star Fox game for Wii U. Miyamoto explained that players will use both the gamepad and the television screen to play, with the gamepad providing a cockpit view and the TV boasting a “more cinematic” perspective. He said players will find themselves switching back and forth frequently, perhaps favoring one over the other for more intense dogfights.

When it came to questions about the game’s amiibo integration, Miyamoto was predictably tight-lipped. The upcoming Star Fox game on Wii U will definitely incorporate amiibo in some form, but it seems Nintendo is not quite ready to announce exactly what its plans are.

Perhaps the most promising morsel Miyamoto shared, however, was that he has been working on Star Fox personally every day, playing it so much that his hands hurt. If the Japanese genius’s past work is any indication, Star Fox’s Wii U debut may well be a game worth keeping your eye on as its 2015 release draws closer.
