Bandai Namco games and CyberConnect2 knocked it out of the park with this year’s fighting game adaptation of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, and neither company is known for letting their hits fade away, so a sequel was all-but inevitable. Today the Jojo page on Bandai Namco’s japanese site turned into a teaser for Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven on PS3 and PS4, a tag-team brawler which seems to be a followup to All Star Battle. CC2’s logo doesn’t appear anywhere on the site, so they may not be involved with this game’s development, but the promotional art on the page looks nearly identical to the CG in All Star Battle (which is to say that it’s a near-perfect translation of manga creator Hirohiko Araki’s breathtaking style).
If this is a sequel, then Jojo fans should be ecstatic, as the page clearly depicts Jotaro and Josuke duking it out with the Steel Ball Run version of Dio (complete with his dinosaur zombie stand Scary Monsters) and fan-favorite Nazi cyborg Rudol von Stroheim, both of whom were heavily requested for the first game. The Jojo universe is full of interesting characters who would make great inclusions in a fighting roster, and Jojollion has introduced several intriguing new villains since All Star Battle was released. The game’s twitter has promised that details will be revealed in the oversized January issue of Ultra Jump that releases tomorrow, and that the PS4 version will be featured at Jump Festa 2015, which starts December 20. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
