Konami and Kojima Productions have been quiet about when Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain might launch. All we know is that the release is planned for 2015. Well, turns out that release might be a lot sooner than anyone anticipated.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain might launch February 24, 2015 according to numerous retail listings. Reddit user Mikefancypants works at a retail store, and posted a photo showing that the release date for Metal Gear Solid V had been changed from the placeholder December 31, to February 24. The Microsoft Store, Rakuten, and Smart Game Shopper are also showing the same date.
It’s entirely possible that this is yet another placeholder date. However, February 24 is a very specific date, and it just happens to be a Tuesday, the day most games launch in the U.S. On the other hand, February is really close, and if this is the real release date then why haven’t Konami announced it yet? There are a lot of questions, and no answers at this point.
Take this with a grain of salt. The game will launch on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 either on February 24, or sometime later in 2015.
