There’s nothing more than we like on Christmas Eve than slipping into a velvet robe, making some hot cocoa with extra marshmallows and settling in with a good game of Destiny. Unfortunately, that looks like it’s not a possibility tonight because PSN has gone down for the majority of users tonight (nobody on Hardcore Gamer staff can sign into the service) with many experiencing connection problems at the very least. Lizard Squad has swiftly claimed responsibility for the server outage and has been taunting users since then claiming they need a certain amount of retweets before putting it back online.
The attack comes a day after the group threatened to take down Xbox Live on Christmas Day. PSN was last hit with connection issues just over two weeks ago.
[UPDATE] PlayStation has confirmed the attacks, as seen in the below Tweet:
We are aware that there have been issues reported with PSN. Thanks for your patience as we investigate.
