GTA V Extends Inventory Gifts To Make Up For Network Outages

As we all settled down for the Christmas holiday, both PSN and Xbox Live went down. Initial reports fingered well known curmudgeon and ruiner of Christmas “The Grinch” who was believed to have taken down both the Sony and Microsoft servers in addition to stealing their very last can of Who hash. However, after discovering I was reading a children’s book and not a news website, further investigation revealed that it was once again Lizard Squad who both predicted and claimed credit for the attack.

As a result, numerous gamers have been unable to access their games or play any of the new titles they received for the holidays. One of the myriad of titles affected was GTA V, a game that was actually offering a handful of different holiday additions (including the absolutely necessary ugly sweater). While those were set to expire, the GTA V Twitter account announced they would be extending them an unspecified amount of time as a result of the network outages.

“Due to issues with PSN & XBL connectivity, we’re extending the GTA Online Festive Surprise Christmas Day inventory gifts for the time being.”

There is no current end date so hopefully this means we can rock those ugly Christmas sweaters all year round.
