Reminder: Xbox One Returns to $400 January 3rd

Microsoft would like to remind you that the holidays are almost over, and that means the end of their special Xbox One promotion. Starting January 3, all Xbox One models will return to their original retail prices. All non-Kinect models will be back at $400, and Kinect models will be at $500.

However, do not despair. There’s still time to pick up an Xbox One for $349. In fact, Microsoft has a few places in mind that are offering exclusive bonuses with the bundle:

  • Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop and Target: $50 off Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle or Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle with Kinect, plus a free $50 gift card
  • Toys ‘R Us: $50 off Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle or Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle with Kinect, plus a free Xbox One controller
  • Meijer: $50 off Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle or Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle with Kinect, plus a free Xbox One game of your choice
  • Newegg: $50 off Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle or Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle with Kinect, plus a free 12-month Xbox Live Gold subscription and a $20 Newegg gift card

Microsoft’s big price cut was a huge success, helping the Xbox One outsell the PS4 in North America for the first time in eleven months. It’s estimated that the Xbox One outsold the PS4 by about 400 thousand units. With the price back at $400 it will be interesting to see if Microsoft can keep the momentum, or if the PS4 will end up back on top.
