Ninja Theory, the team behind Heavenly Sword and DmC: Devil May Cry, have confirmed that Hellblade will launch on PC. The action-adventure title from the British studio remains wrapped in mystery, but Ninja Theory promises to deliver a stellar experience on the platform.
Speaking to PC Gamer, creative chief Tameem Antoniades praised the openness of the PC platform compared to consoles. The goal is to future-proof the PC release by providing 4K support and, hopefully, modding support.
“I think we want to get to the point where we can invite players and fans to add to the game, and do things that are unexpected, and suggest ideas or add-ons that can make the game richer.”
Hellblade was announced at Sony’s Gamescom 2014 press conference as coming first to consoles on PS4. Whether or not the PC version will launch alongside the PS4 version remains a mystery. Expect to hear more concerning Hellblade later this year.
