Final Fantasy XIV Celeberates Over 4 Million Users With Free Week

While Final Fantasy XIV launched in 2010 to a dreadful reception, and severely damaged the company, Square Enix was able to turn it around in 2013 with A Realm Reborn, bringing everything we could have ever wanted into an MMO.

After a year and a half on the market, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has made significant strides. It has been announced today that the game has had over four million registered users that have gone past their initial free trial. Although it’s unknown what the current subscription numbers looks like, four million registered users is nothing to scoff at.

To celebrate this joyous occasion, Square Enix has announced that starting at 12:00 AM PST tomorrow, anyone who owns Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Born and has their subscription set to inactive will be able to play free of charge until March 9. This is a great time to jump back in with patch 2.51 just being released, adding the the highly anticipated Golden Saucer mini-city.
