New Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX Video Shows Off Almost Every Feature

Sega’s peerless vocaloid superstar Hatsune Miku has enjoyed some long overdue attention here in the west, and the diva’s latest release, Project Mirai DX, is less than three months away. The third Hatsune Miku game released in the west in as many years, but the first on 3DS, Project Mirai DX boasts some significant differences in comparison to the diva’s PlayStation outings. A new video released today shows off almost all of the game’s features, the most striking of which is the game’s chibi character designs, trading the sleek and slender models of the Project Diva F games for more compact, cartoonish interpretations.

The video also highlights the numerous gameplay modes and features of Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX. New rhythm game modes, unique button inputs, and the ever-popular diva customization are all featured, but Sega also gives us a brief look at a few subgames and the game’s AR support. It’s all adorable, infectious, and unapologetically Japanese, and we can’t wait to get our hands on the game when it launches on 3DS in North America on May 26.
