Most people don’t seem to have liked The Order: 1886, but one thing everybody seems to agree on is that it was a really, really ridiculously good-looking game. No two bones about it: Victorian London is an awesome time period and location for a game. Even if the game itself wasn’t that exciting, it sure was pretty, and now that Sony has just released Blackwater Archives | The Art of The Order: 1886, you can spend some time ogling the art without having to play the game yourself.
The book offers 260 pages of high-quality art and features describing the developer’s inspiration and thoughts behind much of the art design. On top of that, it’s leather bound with a really classy design with the insignia for The Order prominently featured in gold on the front cover with minimal text to distract.
If you were a fan of the game or just interested in the work that went into the art, this seems like a pretty stellar purchase. It’s available on Amazon for $59.99.
