Games are great. Point and click games are great. Free point and click games are great. And free point and click games that happen to be great are even greater. Got it? And Lancelot’s Hangover, the dev-described “Monkey Island meets Monty Python’s Holy Grail in a silly medieval point and click adventure” is a strong combination of the lot. The beta can be downloaded by clicking these words, so do it now.
The game very much embraces ’90s LucasArts titles, putting players in control of the sexiest knight of the round table on a God-given quest to find, and drink booze from, the Holy Grail. The game boasts 1080p VGA graphics that were apparently made by “one single guy” with some uncomfortable drug habits.
Developer Jean-Baptiste de Clerfayt (the one single guy that sounds like a target in Assassin’s Creed Unity) isn’t new to the world of comedy-writing, either. Having contributed sketches to Belgian television and radio, writing “funny reviews in a Belgian music magazine,” and doing graphics design for the Belgian Catholic Church, this project is a lifetime in the making.
If you’re in the mood to do good, support Lancelot’s Hangover by voting for it on Steam Greenlight.
