With barely 48 hours to spare, the reboot of the classic Toejam and Earl series successfully reached its $400,000 target on Kickstarter today, officially funding the project.
Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove is the reboot of the original Genesis series Toejam and Earl. Debuting on Kickstarter late in February, Back in the Groove brought back the funky aliens with new designs and high anticipation for fans. Now with successful funding, the project is ready to go.
Back in the Groove is set to play in a roguelike style, with randomly generated levels, along with both new and old enemies.
The game is planned to appear on PC initially, though other platforms are dependent on funding. Split-screen and online co-op for four players will also be included. Finally, fans should expect a 90’s-esque underground art style, shown off with new designs for the titular duo.
Congratulations to Greg Johnson and his team for their Kickstarter funding of this classic series rebooted.
