Were you hoping to walk into your favorite store and collect all the new wave 4 Amiibo? Well it won’t be that easy. Nintendo has been making it extremely difficult for fans to collect all the different Amiibo. Some, like the Wii Fit Trainer, were only sold in limited quantities. Others, like Shulk, were retail-exclusive. Wave 4 Amiibo Charizard, Wario, Pac-Man, Lucina, and Robin will be available at all retail locations, but the others won’t.
Fan site Amiibo News has revealed that Greninja is exclusive to Toys R Us, Ness is exclusive to GameStop, and Jigglypuff is exclusive to Target. Adding to frustration, Jigglypuff will not be sold in stores, and is only purchasable via Target’s online store. Unfortunately, the pink Pokemon is already sold out. Pre-orders for Ness and Greninja have yet to commence.
Amiibo launched November 2014 alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The NFC-enabled figurines have proven quite popular, selling over 5 million units since launch. Wave 4 launches May 29.
