The Wii U has seen a lot of AAA series shy away from its GamePad graces, but it looks like at least one major franchise could be wiggling its way back. With Call of Duty: Black Ops III being officially announced (or pre-announced, depending on which hype you believe), Activision is quickly ramping up their preparation for the first-person shooter. The latest update has caught our eye, however, as the publisher has updated their Account Manage Page with an option to link a Nintendo account:
This is interesting as last year — when Advanced Warfare was released but skipped Wii U — there was no option on the page for such a link:
Unless this is a glitch or perhaps some sort of product-wide implementation, there would be no reason to intentionally implement the functionality unless a Call of Duty game was indeed coming to a Nintendo console.
While it would seem odd to skip over Advanced Warfare on Wii U only to return the series to the platform the next, perhaps Activision wants to continue the Black Ops series on Nintendo’s console and we could indeed see a Wii U version of Black Ops 3.
