Treyarch Teases Black Ops III and Announces Reveal Date

In a viral video making its way around the Internet, Treyarch and Activision have all but confirmed that Black Ops III will be the next Call of Duty title.

We’ve suspected for a while that Treyarch was working on a sequel to one of their past Call of Duty titles, but there was no indication as to whether it was World at War or the hugely popular Black Ops franchise. The video embedded below, titled “#backinblack” while never revealing the actual title of the upcoming game, shows a Roman numeral ‘3’ in the same font as the ‘II’ in Black Ops II. Black Ops is the only Call of Duty franchise developed by Treyarch, outside of the original numbered games, that has received two sequels to date.

It’s worth noting that while this teaser is widespread, neither Treyarch nor Activision has officially released it on their respective YouTube channels, though there is an official Activision copyright in the final frames of the video Activision has officially released the video on their official YouTube channel. The worldwide reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops III is set for April 26, a mere fifteen days away.
