Mortal Kombat X to Kick Off with Fatal 8 Exhibition Tournament

Three days before its release NetherRealm Studios plans to debut the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat X with some tournament play.

Eight players have been invited to participate and showoff Mortal Kombat’s competitive side. They are:

  • Malik “MIT” Terry
  • Christian “KiT Forever King” Quiles
  • Elijah “Tyrant” Williamson
  • Dominique “CR_SonicFox” McLean
  • Carl “Perfect Legend” White
  • Ryan “Ketchup” Neal
  • Tony “TONY-T” Pert
  • Ryan “Prodigal Son” Hart

The total prize pool for the tournament is $10,000 with $5,000 going to the winner.

Hosting will be Joshua Gray alongside the following cast of commentators:

  • Bill “Tom Brady” Menoutis
  • David Phillip “UltraDavid” Graham
  • Brian “EGP_Compton” Compton
  • Dustin “Godspeed” Kane
  • Jake “Mustard” Neal (Yes, they are brothers).

The tournament will take place on April 11 at 2p.m. PST at ESL America Burbank Studios in Burbank, CA and will be single elimination in a best of five series. You can watch the tournament live on their Twitch channel here and tickets for the event have sold out.

Mortal Kombat X is scheduled to release April 14 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC and mobile.
