Oculus Rift Unlikely to Ship to Consumers in 2015

The long-in-the-works VR project Oculus Rift has been making waves in the gaming sphere for years now, but its consumer release could be pushed outside of 2015.

According to Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg in the most recent Facebook earnings call, the Oculus Rift has not received a shipment schedule for 2015 yet and is still in the development stage, with no mass launch planned as of yet.

Zuckerberg claims it’s too early to start talking mass shipments of Oculus Rift, which heavily implies a delay of the VR headset out of 2015. If so, this would mark the second VR headset delay of 2015, as Sony’s Morpheus has also been pushed to 2016.
