Cube Life: Island Survival for Wii U Shows its Minecraft Roots in New Trailer

If you’re looking to get your fix of Minecraft-style block-building action and only have a Wii U, you’ve probably had a rough go of it since the game has yet to make the jump over to Nintendo’s console. But with Cube Life: Island Survival, you might just be in luck.

The game seems like it’s pulling no punches in aping Minecraft‘s style, perfectly replicating the blocky look and feel of the original. It could end up being a decent clone that could satisfy fans or give Wii U owners with no other way to play the real game something to mess around with, or it could end up being total unabashed garbage. That’s the rub with knockoff games like this one, but it’s at least refreshing to see that developer Cypronia isn’t shying away from the comparison at all. Or maybe that’s gross; I can’t really tell anymore. We live in strange times, people.

Check out the trailer below. The game hits Wii Us next month.
