Capcom has announced the Mega Man Legacy Collection, a celebration of the iconic Blue Bomber’s 8-bit history. The collection will be available for digital download on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this summer, and on 3DS this winter.
The Mega Man Legacy Collection features faithful reproductions of the original six Mega Man games. In addition, there are new ways to experience the classic games with the Museum Mode and Challenge Mode. Museum Mode contains a collection of art, concept pieces, and history that will make any Mega Man fan jump with glee. Challenge Mode remixes gameplay segments from all six games by scaling difficulty objectives.
Mega Man is one of Capcom’s most iconic franchises, but has been left in the cold recently. His last big game, Mega Man 10, came out in 2010. The Blue Bomber’s popularity has increased recently thanks to his inclusion in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, and the upcoming release of Mighty Number 9, a spiritual successor created by original Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune. Mega Man Legacy Collection will go head-to-head against Mighty Number 9, which also launches this summer.
