It’s funny how the history of video games is now being utilized as a gameplay component. We’ve seen it with games such as Evoland, Life of Pixel, and now with BiT Evolution.
Players meander through the pixelated 2D platformer which changes from incredibly retro-inspired visuals to 16-bit graphics we’d see in the 90s. Of course, given the historical aesthetic there’s also a great deal of references to classic titles.
Since being in Early Access, BiT Evolution has maintained a positive reviewer rating, although apparently a few bugs did slip through to the final build. Major Games is working out a fix. BiT Evolution is available at the launch discount of $8.99 until June 16 and runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
