Are you tired of all these HD remasters of games that came out within the last few years? Well they aren’t stopping. Despite being outed many weeks ago, Nordic Games have officially announced that Darksiders II will receive its very own HD remaster, awkwardly titled “Deathinitive Edition.”
“We took over the franchise roughly 2 years ago and thought about the next chapter for Darksiders ever since then,” stated Nordic Games’ Business & Product Development Director, Reinhard Pollice. “Naturally (and extremely excitedly!), there will be a large-scale project based on Darksiders, but for now it is very important for us to take care of the existing games and make those available to a broader audience. Bringing Darksiders 2 to current gen was a logical step for us and the team at Gunfire Games know their trade inside-out, so we easily and quickly had lots of ideas that we wanted to realise for this specific edition.”
This definitive edition will come with reworked assets and lighting, rebalanced mechanics and loot, a 1080p resolution, and of course all of the downloadable content ever released. So at the very least this isn’t just Nordic taking the PC version and slapping a new name on it. The Deathinitive Edition will be available for PS4 and Xbox One at an undetermined date.
