The recently announced Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will be retailing at $39.99 and includes a beta for the highly anticipated Gears of War 4, The Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson has confirmed.
Fergusson made the announcement on Twitter, while revealing in another tweet that The Coalition has enhanced the Ultimate Edition’s split-screen option for co-op and the online multiplayer.

The Ultimate Edition, which was unveiled at Microsoft’s E3 press conference yesterday, is a remaster of the first Gears of War title, with The Coalition confirming that it will be running at 1080p and 60fps, includes all DLC, new modes and two hours’ worth of story missions not available in the original Xbox 360 title.
Meanwhile, the Ultimate Edition’s online beta is now live, with Xbox Live Gold members able to participate by registering their Gamertag at GearsofWar.com and receiving a special downloadable code.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will launch on August 25 for Xbox One.
