Square-Enix’s 2015 E3 presentation revealed an entirely new studio being created by the massive publisher: Tokyo RPG Factory.
The new studio’s first title, known currently as Project Setsuna is planned for a global release in 2016 and won’t be a spin-off game; this is the debut of an all-new IP from Square-Enix. Project Setsuna was only shown off with brief artwork pieces that showcased snowy mountains, a snow-covered forest and a village area with a small amount of snowfall. There was nothing revealed about its gameplay either, so we don’t know if it’s turn-based or real-time, or some hybrid of the two. From what we’ve seen, snow seems to play a part in either the lore, the world and potentially the gameplay.
