Publisher Konami has released more than 40 new high-resolution screenshots for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
The images, which were uploaded to Konami’s UK Facebook page, are a combination of stills from the recent E3 trailer for The Phantom Pain and the customisation mechanics in the open-world stealth title.
The Phantom Pain’s ‘buddy system,’ a feature that allows Big Boss to take an ally into the battlefield, has more details revealed in one of the screenshots, as four buddies have been confirmed: D-Horse, D-Dog, Quiet and D-Walker.
Other images include Skull Face, the primary antagonist in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, coming face to face with Big Boss (quite literally), Kaz interrogating Quiet, fallen soldiers of Militaires Sans Frontières being cremated and Eli climbing into some form of a mech.
While a majority of the screenshots are from this week’s E3 trailer, it should be noted that the images contain spoilers for The Phantom Pain’s story, so view them at your own discretion.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will launch on September 1 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Meanwhile, The Phantom Pain’s PC version is scheduled for release on September 15.
