Developer Rocksteady Studios’ recently released Batman: Arkham Knight has received an official release date for the title’s forthcoming Batgirl DLC.
Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed in a press release that the add-on, called ‘Batgirl: A Matter of Family,’ will be available on July 14 for Arkham Knight Season Pass owners.
For those who aren’t willing to invest in Arkham Knight’s $39.99 (£32.99) Season Pass, the DLC will be heading to the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Games Store on July 21 for $6.99 (£5.79).
The PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight, which Warner Bros. removed from online retailers due to a number of performance-related issues, will be “available in the coming weeks,” according to the publisher.
As the name of the DLC clearly suggests, Batgirl: A Matter of Family shifts the focus from Batman to the female heroine — who is playable for the first time in the franchise — with the story being set before the events of Arkham Knight.
The DLC will introduce a new location, missions, side objectives and puzzles, as well as a new hacking feature and Arkham Knight’s Dual Play mechanic working between Batgirl and Robin.
Warner Bros. Games Montréal, who were at the helm of Batman: Arkham Origins, has developed Batgirl: A Matter of Family, while Rocksteady Studios is working on the rest of the DLC planned for Arkham Knight’s Season Pass.
