Xbox Music Rebranded as ‘Groove,’ Xbox Video Renamed ‘Movies & TV’

Windows 10 is set to mark a big change for the infrastructure of Microsoft and today comes the announcement of the phasing out of the “Xbox” moniker in the operating system. Xbox Music will be rebranded as “Groove” and is said to feature an improved experience for music playback and management as well as improved controls for touch-screen devices. The “Xbox Music Pass” will continue to exist, but will now simply be named the “Groove Music Pass.”

More still, Xbox Video will now be named “Movies & TV” and also see improvements in playback and management.

Naming services after a video game platform always seemed a bit confusing and now that Microsoft is going back to focusing on the Xbox brand on gaming, this name swap makes sense.
