Microsoft will not be attending Tokyo Game Show, the company announced. The event runs from September 17 to the 20 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba.
Speaking with the Japanese publication Famitsu (via Gematsu), Microsoft Japan category marketing group’s Masayuki Inoue said, “2015 will continue to provide an attractive game line-up, exclusive titles included. This year, Microsoft will not exhibit the Tokyo Game Show, but we’re making various preparations to deliver the latest Xbox news to fans and media. We will provide an update as soon as we can.”
It is unclear at this time, but with Inoue’s comments, it’s possible that Microsoft could be preparing its own event or revealing some major announcements. This announcement means that Sony will basically have TGS to itself, which seems to even things out, as Microsoft will all but own Gamescom.
