There’s nothing wrong with JRPGs, but it is often the case that a lot of tropes come into play when they formulate their underlying story. Celestian Tales: Old North bucks this trend.
According to the Steam page: “You are not special. The world is not about to end. There is no ancient prophecy nor a giant mythical beast about to be unleashed…” So, what exactly is this game all about? It seems poised more toward moral issues such as defining who is the “true” enemy. With that said, the gameplay itself looks like a typical turn-based battle system with some lovely hand-painted artwork.
No price has been announced for Celestian Tales: Old North just yet. For now, we’ve just got to wait until launch on August 11. Here’s the trailer if you’d like to take a peek:
