Call of Duty: Black Ops II Takes Top Spot in Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Poll

Earlier last month Microsoft announced at their E3 conference that backwards compatibility will become the newest staple for Xbox One users starting as early as, well, right now.  Players who were lucky enough to be invited into the Xbox Preview Program can already begin to play their old copies of Mass Effect and only Mass Effect, for now.  If you were not invited to the Xbox Preview Program, you don’t have to worry.  Preview members have the ability to invite their friends to join and prepare themselves for the plethora of games that will soon be available, according to the voting poll on the Microsoft website.

Now, thousands of gamers have been able to vote for their pick of the games that will be available through Preview once the holiday season / next year rolls around and Black Ops 2 has made the cut as the top spot just after Red Dead Redemption and Skyrim.

The top ten games and their votes (as of right now) are as follows:

1. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2: 81,564

2. Red Dead Redemption: 78,955

3. Skyrim: 73,826

4. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: 65,887

5. Halo: Reach: 64,504

6. Cal of Duty: Black Ops: 56,503

7. Gears of War 3: 52,761

8. Fallout 3: 51,237

9. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: 48,292

10. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: 42,427

The website has stated that, “we can’t promise that every title will be available, but we’re working hard to make as many of your favorite Xbox 360 titles playable on  Xbox One.”  You can still cast your votes on their website and hope to see your favorite games later this holiday season/ early next year.
