Rockstar Games Confirms Double RP and Double Cash for Grand Theft Auto Online

Grand Theft Auto V publisher Rockstar Games announced on Monday that Grand Theft Auto Online users are now able to earn double RP and double in-game cash for completing Heist missions.

According to a post on Rockstar Games’ official website, the double RP and cash are part of a week-long event running from July 27 to August 2 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The double RP and cash have been applied to Heist set-up missions and Series A Funding, with the latter also having three Elite Challenges that doubles up players’ rewards: finishing the mission in under 6:30, killing 75 enemies and no team member dying during the course of the Heist.

Heists, a long-awaited feature that launched earlier this year, can only be accessed by players that are ranked 12 or above in Grand Theft Auto Online, but Rockstar has revealed that newcomers will be able to earn double RP and cash by completing certain missions or accomplishing specific objectives in competitive matchups.

Listed below are some of the various tasks and activities that Rockstar has confirmed as part of the double RP and cash event:

  • Gang Attacks
  • Mission: Out of Harmony
  • Missions: Deliver a Package Bonus
  • Deathmatch: All Kills
  • Deathmatch: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place finishes
  • Deathmatch: 3, 6 and 10 Kills
  • Deathmatch: Power Player, Kill When Close to Death
  • Vehicle Deathmatch: Kill Power Player
  • Survival: Wave Reached
  • Capture: RP Rewards for Collecting Mission Package

Grand Theft Auto V, which has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, initially launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, but Rockstar also updated the game with a few new features, such as the addition of a first-person mode, and re-released it for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2014.

The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V was eventually released on April 14, 2015, despite it being delayed on multiple occasions by Rockstar Games.
