Dragon Quest XI Announced for PS4, 3DS, NX

We all saw it coming, especially after a leaked logo yesterday. During Square Enix’s Dragon Quest themed press conference, the studio took the stage to announce a number of projects, one being their next mainline installment into the beloved RPG franchise.

Dragon Quest XI will be hitting the PlayStation 4 and 3DS simultaneously in 2016 to coincide with the series’ 30th annivesary, while they’re exploring Nintendo’s next console when it’s revealed and released. The PS4 version will be running on Unreal Engine 4 with the assistance of Orca and will feature what seems like an open world to explore. The 3DS version will be designed with Toy Logic and features a rather charming sprite-based version on the bottom screen while the top is in 3D.
