For some odd reason, fans seem to love to rebuy older games if they’ve been converted into 1080p. It’s very evident considering the number of HD remasters we have seen over the last few years, and the ones already announced for 2015 and 2016. Some are worth your time and effort, while some are incredibly questionable.
Well it looks like Square Enix isn’t jumping on the bandwagon entirely. Tetsuya Nomura, best known for directing the Kingdom Hearts series and a great deal of recent Final Fantasy games, stated in an interview with Ruliweb that Square Enix has no plans of releasing the 2013 and 2014 releases of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX or HD 2.5 ReMIX on PlayStation 4.
Considering Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster just recently was adapted for the system, it’s a disappointing thought that a Kingdom Hearts HD port is being swept under the rug. Regardless, fewer HD remasters the better, especially if they’ve already done it once before.
