NVIDIA Shield Tablet Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

An entire year after its debut announcement, many NVIDIA Shield tablets are being recalled due to potentially disastrous occurrences. The lithium-ion batteries found within the tablets have the potential to overheat which could then cause a fire hazard.

The recall affects 83,000 units (including several thousands sold in Canada) and should be replaced immediately. If you believe your NVIDIA Shield has been suspiciously too warm, you may want to contact NVIDIA as soon as possible.

Visit the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website for more details on the recall.
