Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 Now Cel-Shaded, Horror Ensues

A new set of screenshots of the admittedly sketchy-looking Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 have hit the internet, and all indications are that the anticipated skateboarding title has changed its art-style with roughly a month to go before launch. What’s more, the cel-shading effect added to THPS5 takes its already awkward looking visuals to a whole new level of hideous.

There seems to have been cel-shading haphazardly thrown onto the weak character models that were present before, resulting in the freaky clay-person look that THPS5 currently sports. What’s worse, this new style gives off the appearance that this is a lower-budget indie FMV title rather than an Activision-published entry in a long-standing franchise.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 releases on September 29 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
