Nintendo 2DS gets a Permanent Price Cut in the U.S.

Nintendo 2DS is about to drop in price, says Nintendo. The house of Mario has announced that the 2DS will cost $99.99 in the U.S. starting August 30.

The Nintendo 2DS launched in 2013 at the price of $129.99. The new hardware feature some major changes from the standard 3DS and 3DS XL models. 2DS features a tablet like design, only one speaker, and all 3D functionality removed. The handheld is aimed at young children who aren’t old enough to view the 3D effect, and are more prone to accidentally breaking fragile devices.. Despite being gimped of some of the 3DS’ main selling points, the 2DS has continued to sell well in the U.S.

You can pick up a 2DS at $99.99 starting August 30. The handheld will come bundled with a digital copy of Mario Kart 7, one of the best games on the platform.
