Ever since its release two years ago, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has set the MMO scene on fire. Maybe it had something to do with Square Enix catching up on their mistakes, that being the biggest bust the Japanese developer has ever since, but at least they made good by their fans.
It has been announced today that Final Fantasy XIV is doing exceptionally well, exceeding over five million registered users across the globe. These are users who are paying or have paid for the service in the past, not including the one month trial given to those who purchase the game. This no doubt had something to do with the well done and highly addictive first expansion, Heavensward, being released a few months ago. This is a strong achievement for the MMO, hopefully moving Square Enix forward towards greater goals.
